This time of the year causes a financial strain on most families; the cost of books, uniforms and everything else involved can quickly add up. For some families, this strain will mean making some very difficult decisions. No child should have to go to school without having access to everyday hygiene essentials that most of us take for granted. Hygiene poverty is not being able to afford the basics from toothbrushes and toothpaste to deodorant and shampoo. For many on a low-income, these essential products have become out of reach luxuries.
This September, Loreto Hockey Club is delighted to partner with the registered charity, “The Hygiene Bank.” The Hygiene Bank works with not-for-profit community partners at grassroot level giving hygiene and personal care products to those who are struggling. Our club members have a wonderful tradition of digging deep and helping those in need and we envision that this initiative will be no different. In particular, we are getting behind the Hygiene Bank’s Back to School drive.
So what is involved in the drive:
Who: Select to help out a primary school or secondary school pupil (or both!)
What: Add a couple of the products listed below to your weekly shop.
Where: Drop these products to the designated area outside Loreto’s Clubhouse (please adhere to all COVID-19 guidelines).
When: Wednesday 8th September 7.30PM - 9PM (TONIGHT) and Saturday 11th September 2PM-4PM
